We Wai Kai and Wei Wai Kum First Nations together with School District 72 Campbell River are exploring options for a Kindergarten Immersion-experience in Liq’wala/Kwak’wala starting September 2019.
What Does this Mean?
Indigenous and non-Indigenous students residing in Campbell River school district entering Kindergarten will have the opportunity to experience a Kindergarten program which follows the B.C. provincial curriculum, while being immersed in the language to promote early language acquisition. The program will include a qualified language teacher and a qualified kindergarten teacher.
