Holiday Curbside Waste Collection Change

Residents on reserve who usually take garbage and recyclables to the curb on Mondays will see collection on Tuesday, Dec. 26 next week. However, the Monday, Jan. 1 collection will take place as usual.

Curbside recycling accepts unlimited amounts of clean printed paper, paper packaging for dry goods, hard plastics that have a triangle around a number, and tin and aluminum cans..

A number of items not accepted curbside can be recycled at the Island Return It Centre on Willow Street or at the Campbell River Waste Management Centre on Argonaut Road. Find information on recycling plastic bags, overwraps, foam packaging and other products at https://recyclebc.ca. Also, see the Waste Watchers page of our website for more information and tips.

Landfill hours: Campbell River Waste Management Centre on Argonaut Road will be closed Mondays Dec. 25 and Jan. 1 – otherwise open every day from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Yard waste drop-off centre hours remain Friday to Tuesday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Closed, Mondays Dec. 25 and Jan. 1)
