The new North Island Hospital Campbell River and District will open on Sunday, Sept. 10. Emergency and obstetric patients can begin accessing the new hospital through the Emergency Department starting at 5:30 a.m.
The hospital’s address is 375-2nd Avenue. The Emergency Department entrance is accessed from Birch Street near Evergreen Road. Access to the main entrance of the new hospital will be via the entrance to the current hospital on 2nd Avenue. Parking will be available on site.
Island Health is asking that people wait until after 1 p.m. on Sunday Sept. 10 to visit patients in the new hospital, if at all possible. This will help them ensure a smooth and organized transfer of patients to the new facility.
