20 Hour Training Program April 9, 11, 13, 16 and 18
Training Program Covers: Responsible Adult Training is intended for those who wish to meet the requirements for a “Responsible Adult” in child care setting as stipulated by the Child Care Regulation. The “Responsible Adult” Training provides 20 hours of instruction and covers the following topics: Good Health in Child Care Setting, Children’s Nutrition and Safety, Child Growth and Development, Guiding and Caring for Children, Parent-Caregiver Relationships, Learning Through Play and Basic Programming with Health and Safety in Mind.
Who Should Attend?: Responsible Adult is perfect for individuals who want to work as a Responsible Adult in a Family Child Care setting or would like to develop basic knowledge and skills for working with children as a Registered License Not Required care provider. This course also meets the requirements for the 20 hours of training for “Responsible Adult” as stipulated by the Child Care Regulation to qualify for employment in family child care or school age child care settings. All participants must be 19 years of age or over.
Responsible Adult Schedule:
April 9, 11, 13, 16 and 18
Each session will run from 12 – 4 p.m.
The program will be held at the WeiWaiKum Learning Centre (1400 WeiWaiKum Rd, portable building at the Thunderbird Hall complex)
Snacks and refreshments will be provided but participants are asked to provide their own lunch.
