An Indigenous-owned technology company has launched a blog miniseries to give Indigenous students tips on how to take advantage of scholarships and other awards – even after the school year has started.
Animikii Inc. is a web-services company based in B.C. It offers annual $500 technology and entrepreneurship scholarships for Indigenous youth (age 17 – 30) who are either in technology or entrepreneurship-based post-secondary programs.
Its miniseries – called Scholarship Guide for Indigenous Students – will share what Animikii representatives are looking for when awarding the organization’s scholarships. It will also help students understand the sometimes intimidating process of applying for the many education awards available, some of which go unclaimed every year because organizations “just couldn’t find applicants that met their requirements,” according to the company’s first blog post.
